Matchups and Mismatches
When we look at matchups by unit and compare the teams playing a particular game, there are intriguing matchups and mismatches each week. The Total Points PDF has this for each game in the NFL in a given week.
You can also find much of this information at the SIS DataHub Pro.
Here are some things we noticed:
(All references to rankings are in the context of Total Points Per Play)
* We got a fun game in the trenches tonight, with the Bills 2nd-ranked pass blocking unit facing off against the Texans’ highest rated pass rush in the league.
* After his breakout on national television, TreVeyon Henderson and the Patriots will look to keep their run game going against the Bengals’ worst run defense in the NFL.
* Ashton Jeanty may have another difficult time this Sunday. The Raiders’ rushing attack ranks last and the Browns’ run defense ranks 1st.
* Another big game Sunday night with the Rams’ top ranked passing attack facing off against the Buccaneers’ 7th-ranked pass rush and 12th-ranked pass coverage unit.
